Our visit in the Arctic landscapeThe car drives along an empty road, in front of us, Sweden's highest mountain Kebnekaise. Suddenly the car stops, we follow a path into the forest. Equipped with our telephoto lenses, we go for good photo spots.
In the summer, it is difficult to get close to animals, but we search for moose, reindeer, ptarmigan, hare and try to find Siberian jay, owls and hawks. If we are lucky we might see larger animals, but in summer and autumn they are more shy and harder to catch. If we are lucky we get to see them and take a photo. Before the tour ends we have got good landscape photos, pictures of flowers and if we are lucky some animals. The guide will also tell you about nature, animals and Sami culture. Price: SEK 1,690/person . Children 8-15 years SEK 1,290/child.
The price includes: Pick-up from Icehotel, Kiruna tourist office or Camp Ripan, Sami photo guide,camera with telelens, hot drink and cake. Participants: Minimum 2 adults. Departures: Daily departures 08.30–12.30 at Camp Ripan and Kiruna tourist office. Departure Icehotel 08.00-12.00 March 1 - October 31 and 09.00-13.00, November 1 - February 28. How to prepare: - Clothes adapted to the season, gloves and a warm hat. The nights are cold and we are standing outside for 1-3 hours. - SD memory card is not included but can be purchased. - Children share camera with adult. - Allergy, please let us know at booking. It is good to know that reindeer skins and dogs are common in the cars and on locations. |
