Survive in the ArcticIt is a cold autumn day with wind and the first snow in the air. We just talked about how Sami people dress to keep warm all day. Now it's time to test our knowledge.
We are alone out in the forest. Here, the only way to survive is to keep warm. Food, ways to move, make fire and keep us dry is important. We learn the Sami way of being in nature, how to think, what to do and not do and we learn how to dress, make a fire and find food. We search for food, follow animal tracks and learn ways to move in the forest. Price: SEK 1,690/adult, children SEK 1,090/child 6-15 years. Private tour available.
The price includes: Pick-up from Kiruna tourist office and Camp Ripan, Sami guide, booster seats for children, covering clothes and shoes, hot drink and a cake. Participants: Minimum 2 adults. Departures: October 1 - May 15 at 08.30–approx. 12.30. How to prepare: - Clothes adapted to the season, gloves and a warm hat. The nights are cold and we are standing outside for 1-3 hours. - Allergy, please let us know at booking. It is good to know that reindeer skins and dogs are common in the cars and on locations. |
